Sensational Nigerian musician, Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems was born on 11 June 1995 in Lagos, Nigeria. Tems attended Dowen College before proceeding to South Africa for her Tertiary education. At school, she was noticed by her music teacher and she learned to play the piano.

Tems quit her job in 201to pursue a career in music, she recorded “Mr Rebel”, a song of her own composition. In August 2019, she released the single “Try Me” which became a hit track.

In 2020, the talented diva released her debut studio project tagged “For Broken Ears”, which houses her hit single “Damages”. That same year she featured on the Grammy nominated song, “Essence” by Wizkid. Due to her role in creating the hit single, she earned a number one spot on BBC 1Xtra Airplay Chart, a Billboard Hot 100, a Soul Train Music Award, two NAACP Image Awards, and a Grammy Award nomination for Best Global Music Performance.
